Really wonder full experience ,we really enjoy our family trip. We enjoy the fishing, water falls, pool , wild life , cardamom plants, every thing. Very delicious food and snacks. Really we experience a great service from all staffs, especially appreciating the Mr. Vishnu ( manager ). Camp fire and live BBQ chicken preparation was awesome. We will visit again, Thanks to entire Mayapott management for providing this like experience to guest.

Mayapott is a very unique property away from the busy noisy city resorts located in thekkady The property is in middle of the plantation, there is a stream which runs through the property Mayapott has only 3 cottages, In season time its hard to get the booking Enjoy the nature, spend more time in pool with the stream view and take good pictures I informed earlier about my food preferences and was happy with the food provided to us Planning to visit again this year

Me and my Wife visited this property for our anniversary at our friends behest and it turned out to be the best place to spend our weekend. The Villa is constructed in a way without disturbing the trees or nature. And there is stream that run through the foundations of this place! There is huge pond and a compact swimming pool next to the stream. Do not expect five star levels of sophistication at the villa and it is more of a rustic - being one with nature kind of a retreat. The place is a bit damp(because of the stream and frequent Rain) and insects tend to get in if windows or doors are kept open for long. Think an excellent tree house rather than a Hilton. The staff were amazing and courteous and the food was excellent . This villa has only three rooms so advanced booking is recommended. If you love nature and calm serenity ,this is the place for you.

While there are so many Plantation Villas that keep popping up every now and then, Mayapott Bungalow is one of a kind. There are only 3 rooms and it is a Bungalow more than a hotel or homestay. You get a lovely Chef for yourself who whips all kind of killer local dishes as per your request. The property itself is nestled within a jungle and built into the Rocky hills and boulders. If you are looking for a Tranquil place to chill with your loved one in a place still not invaded by loud tourists, look no further LOCATION: Not too far from Thekkady town, but secluded from any nearby restaurants/cafes or shops DINE + DRINK: Nothing fancy. No bar or serious restaurant. Only a Dining room and a nice outdoor lounge area with a couple of tables. But if you bring your own alcohol, a great place to chill while listening to the various tunes that the restless birds keep humming all around you. Such a welcome break from the honks and noises of the traffic in the city. And Chef Bobby is a treasure of Kerala! He makes such good food that can rival any fine dining restaurant in the state! So you are all set. ROOM: I stayed in the room overlooking the lounge area, so this review is based on that; VIEW: View of the rocks and creek below ; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: SEmi Al fresco, Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Bring your own, as nothing fancy is offered. FACILITIES: be prepared for a Pure Kerala Chillout mode! No Gym on site. The pool is nothing but a typical Plunge pool you get in some villas/suites. SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all my needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to JOBI - the manager and the Chef Bobby. HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Very slow speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. NO Television in the room, so it is a perfect way to Unplug from the rest of the world and connect with your loved ones!

If you intention is to do nothing, eat good food and take rest, then this place is ideal. Villa is an architectural marvel; blended well with nature. The rooms are spread providing enough privacy for each family. Chef available to ensure good food. Location is not exactly thekkady; but 40-60minutes drive from thekkady towards kattappana. A small pool where kids can spend time. I wish the pool to be little bigger. A stream starts right from the site and is awesome. Manager showed us the video of the water gushing inside the site during rainy season. It might be worth experiencing it during monsoon. You can visit Idukki dam which is almost 1.5hrs drive from this place. No other tourist places nearby worth spending time. But the intent you stay here should not be to spend time traveling to nearby places; just be there with nature; relax, relax and relax....
